＜p＞For many the Kingdom of God represents a vague hope that borders on fantasy with no real thought given to its implications in the real world. What, for instance, shall be the means by which existing governments of this world be brought under the headship of Christ? Will there be a sudden invasion from outer space of angelic beings putting down all rebellion on this planet, or do we look for another vehicle to bring it about? And what connection is there between the Kingdom of Heaven preached by Christ, and the coming Kingdom of God on earth? These are just a few of the questions confronting theologians as they contemplate and formulate eschatology for the coming age.＜/p＞ ＜p＞Richard O. Govier (1928-2018) was a Protestant pastor and missionary and travelled the world in that capacity.
